The ecosystem holds a wide range of species including birds. The Mara River and the Talek River pass right through the reserve providing the wildlife with a source of water. Very importantly, Maasai Mara is home to the 7th wonder of the world The Great Wildebeest Migration which happens once annually along the Mara River. This phenomenal occurrence allows you to experience the drama of the wild first hand. Some of the animal species that you are likely to see among others are cheetahs, lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes and hyrax.
