Located at the base of the rift valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park offers one a break from the savannah dominated vegetation of the parks in northern Tanzania. Lake Manyara is world famous for being the only park with tree climbing lions. Though hard to spot, this is the most spectacular view to witness. However, the lake is well endowed with large herds o0f elephants that look beautiful contrasted to the forest cover that surrounds the region. The forest patch is home to habituated troops of olive baboon and blue monkey. Buffalo, giraffe and several antelope species are easily encountered on a drive.
The park has well-distributed accommodations that suit the needs of each visitor.
