Day 1: Dar-es-Salaam – Drive to Selous Game Reserve (220kms- 4hrs drive)
Depart from Dar-es-Salaam on a pleasant drive to Selous arriving at Rufiji River Camp or similar in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the reserve. The lodges in this game reserve are so far apart, they each have their own routes, so who knows you may find the sighting of a lifetime and be able to enjoy it all by yourselves – one of the huge advantages over the far more crowded reserves.

Day 2: Explore Selous Game Reserve
Full day game drives with picnic lunches. Alternatively, you may decide to take a walking safari which is possible and offers a totally different experience to game drives, to approach animals on foot is a completely different experience than doing it in a vehicle. It is also a chance to get close and personal with some of the finer details of the African bush, things like birds, trees and plants. You can also extend your walking safari into a multi-day walking safari and walk from point to point, camping along the way – the ultimate in a Safari adventure. Return to Rufiji River Camp.

Day 3: Explore Selous Game Reserve
Enjoy an early morning pre-breakfast walking safari returning to camp for late breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure. Afternoon boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. Boating Safaris along one of the rivers of the Selous is a great way to see hippo and crocodile, but also a common to see elephant, waterbuck and buffalo along the river banks.

Day 4 Selous Game Reserve – Drive to Dar es Salaam (220kms- 4hrs drive)
Another morning game drives at the reserve, departing after an early lunch by road back to Dar es Salaam.
